The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency is an Executive Agency of the Department for Transport (DfT). The Agency is accountable to the Secretary of State and Ministers and, through them, to Parliament and the public, for efficient and effective management of the Agency and its responsibilities. Our primary aims are to facilitate road safety and general law enforcement by maintaining registers of drivers and vehicles, and to collect vehicle excise duty (car tax).
On Friday 29 August, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) will be involved in industrial action. Maintaining a service to customers is a priority and DVLA will ensure disruption to customer service is minimised. However, it’s possible that some of it’s Local Offices may be closed or offering a restricted service. DVLA’s Contact Centre will also be offering a restricted service.
DVLA apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause and suggest that you conduct any face to face or telephone business on alternative dates if possible.
